Program
Standard program for intermediate climbers consists 2-3 days of acclimatization and preparation training, then 2-3 days for summit climbing. However, for experienced climbers that can manage their own acclimatization and preparation we offer a three day program for the summit.
DAY 1
Preparing equipment and packing. Training day on Kleines Matterhorn and traverse of Breithorn, 4165m.
DAY 2–3
Summit days. The ascent starts with a walk up to the Hörnli hut. The ascent take normally 4-6 hours. We eat breakfast at 03.30 and at 03.50 we begin our climb towards the top. In the afternoon we are back in Zermatt.
Extended Program
Together we discuss the need for extra days before or after the ascent of Matterhorn. Ad training and acclimatization days before the ascent or extra days for the summit. The ascent of Matterhorn can also be combined with other great climbs such as:
- Mont Blanc, 4810m
- Eiger, 3970m
- Dufourspitze, 4634m
- Weisshorn, 4506m
- Aiguille Verte, 4122m
- Dent Blanche, 4357m
We are happy to arrange Matterhorn climbs from mid July to mid September. To climb Matterhorn we need stable weather and dry conditions on the route.
