Mont Blanc ski descent

Chamonix

Skiing from the summit of Mont Blanc (4,808 m) is one of the great ski mountaineering objectives in the Alps.

Combining high altitude mountaineering, glacier travel and a long summit descent, the climb offers an unforgettable journey to the highest peak in Western Europe. Few ski descents can match the scale, history and alpine character of Mont Blanc.

Success depends on favourable mountain conditions, fitness and careful preparation. For this reason, the program includes several days in Chamonix, allowing us to acclimatise, refine technical skills and explore some of the exceptional ski mountaineering terrain surrounding the Mont Blanc massif.

Whether Mont Blanc has been a long-term dream or a natural step in your ski mountaineering progression, this program offers a rewarding and memorable alpine experience.

Program

Every Mont Blanc ascent is different.

The exact itinerary depends on the skier’s experience, acclimatisation, fitness, weather conditions and the chosen route. Some guests require a longer preparation period, while others may already possess the necessary experience and acclimatisation.

A typical program combines ski mountaineering, glacier travel and acclimatisation objectives within the Mont Blanc massif before moving into position for the summit attempt.

Possible preparation objectives include Vallée Blanche, Aiguille de Toule, Brèche Puiseux and a variety of classic ski mountaineering routes around Chamonix.

The summit ascent is normally completed over one or two days depending on conditions and the chosen route.

Additional acclimatisation, reserve days or alternative objectives can be arranged when appropriate.
